The Club was inaugurated in 1972 with the founder members being Edmond Coulter and Wilson Sloan. The actual formation was the following year with Jim Kerr and Sean Rickard joining the Club. During this first season Gerry Kerr was appointed as Team Coach of the Under 13s.
The colours worn by the club originated from the old Wolverhampton Wanderers colours of Gold and Black. Our first strip was presented by Wilson Sloan who was a life long Wolves fan!
From our humble beginning in 1973 consisting of just one team, the Club has moved on and now has teams from Under-8s to Under-16s along with a Junior Academy for 5 – 9 year olds.
Now in our 36th year, Lisburn Youth now has a membership of more than 200 boys and girls being coached throughout each season. We aim to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for girls and boys to enjoy the game and to enhance their footballing skills. With a dedicated team of coaches committed to the development of our youth players, both physically and socially, we believe that the team spirit instilled through our club is beneficial to our players as they prepare for the adult world.
We would like to expand this Club History section... if you have any photos of matches or Lisburn Youth teams from down through the years, we would love to feature them on our site. Please send any pictures or match reports to lisburnyouthfc@yahoo.co.uk, stating the season they come from (if possible).
